LET'S GET READY FOR YOUR LASER TREATMENT!
Proper preparation before your laser session can help ensure optimal results and minimize discomfort. Follow these guidelines to prepare your skin and body for treatment:
Inform your practitioner of all medications, supplements, medical conditions, hormonal conditions, or recent changes in your health before treatment.
Notify your practitioner if you have a history of cold sores or perioral herpes, particularly when treating the face.
Avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning before your appointment. Do not arrive with a sunburn or actively irritated skin.
Avoid self-tanners on the treatment area before your appointment.
Discontinue retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, scrubs, and other strong exfoliating or irritating skincare products 3–5 days before treatment, unless otherwise directed by your practitioner.
Notify your practitioner of any recent cosmetic procedures, chemical peels, injections, laser treatments, or other treatments performed in the area.
Laser Hair Reduction & PFB / Ingrown Hair Treatments
Do not wax, tweeze, thread, or pluck the treatment area for at least 3 weeks before treatment. The hair follicle must remain intact for effective laser treatment.
Shave or closely trim the treatment area as instructed before your appointment.
For PFB or ingrown-hair treatments, your practitioner may ask you to leave a small amount of visible stubble so affected follicles can be properly identified.
The Day of Your Treatment
Please arrive with the treatment area clean and free of makeup, lotions, oils, deodorant, perfume, or other topical products whenever possible.
Your skin will be properly cleansed and prepared before treatment.
After Your Aerolase Treatment
Most clients can return to normal daily activities immediately following treatment.
Mild warmth, redness, or temporary sensitivity may occur and generally resolves quickly.
Keep the skin clean, hydrated, and well moisturized.
Use gentle skincare products and avoid retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, scrubs, or other potentially irritating products until the skin has returned to normal.
Avoid excessive heat and activities that cause significant flushing or irritation immediately following treatment.
Avoid prolonged sun exposure and tanning.
Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher every day and reapply as appropriate throughout the day.
Do not pick, scratch, rub, or exfoliate areas that become darker, dry, or develop temporary crusting.
Hyperpigmentation, Sun spots & Melesma
Pigmented areas may temporarily appear darker after treatment before gradually lightening. In some cases, treated pigment may develop a dry or slightly crusted appearance as the skin naturally renews.
Do not pick, scrub, or prematurely remove the treated pigment. Allow the area to naturally shed.
Sun protection is especially important when treating pigmentation. Daily broad-spectrum sunscreen and minimizing unnecessary sun exposure help protect your results and reduce the risk of recurrent or worsening pigmentation.
Melasma is a chronic condition that can recur due to factors such as sun exposure, heat, and hormonal influences. Maintenance treatments and consistent home care may be recommended.
Laser hair Reduction & PFB
Continue shaving or trimming only between treatments.
Do not wax, tweeze, thread, or pluck treated hairs during your treatment series. These methods remove the follicular target needed for subsequent laser treatments.
Treated hairs may appear to continue growing temporarily before shedding. This is normal.
